Mia's 5 1/2 Month Pix's

Luke wanted to get some pictures made before our trip so without an appointment we went to the mall to take some pics of Mia.  I was all bent out of shape since we were being rushed before the appointments came in.  It was also Mia's feeding and bed time.  So I don't have a clue how the photographer got any good photos of us, but she managed to do so.  Our plan was to buy only two photos, but when daddy saw his little girl he wanted all of them. lol

MIAS 1ST NEW YORK TRIP

Well, actually first trip ever! Were sure there will be many more New York trips to come! We had such a wonderful time! We did not want to leave.  We were also pretty busy; Wed we arrived at Patterson and ate pizza,  with the Petersons and the Woods in there room.  Just like we remembered,  Ryan whipped up some delicious chocolate chip cookies, then we headed to the Kevin & Amanda's house.  Not sure if we would have power there because of the freak snow storm, the previous week. Kev, and Manda were out of town. Thankfully we did!
Thursday we spent all day at Patterson, Mike rounded up the crew and we were able to say hello.  Mia was a bit overwhelmed with all the attention.  Then Alana took us around to see a few people before lunch. Some random new waiter we thought wanted to take a picture of Mia but then runs over with her to another table?  One can only assume what his real objective was. Seeing the tables around us, only at Bethel. lol. Then that night Lisa invited some of the girls from BS over and we had pizza & Salad again, one can never have enough of New York Pizza. lol Also a little taste of McKinney & Dole, Irish Cream cake, delish! Kathy made some amazing crape batter to go along with it! Needless to say it was super busy day for Mia, and she was a little peopled out.  Sorry we don't have all the pic's from our trip yet so I will post more later.

District Convention!

We finally had our district convention!!! Love the new video!  We loved the modern day drama on Saturday so real it was scary.  We had brother Guy Pierce as our guest speaker. He made an interesting point how people in Berlin were working so hard to get from one side of Satan's System to get to another,  and asked if we as Jehovah's people were working that hard to get into his kingdom.

It was so nice to see Anthony again! Although Mia was a bit confused with the way he was holding her. lol At least he missed Irene.

She loves her baths! It's so cute!  Although it's hard for me to catch her big wide mouthed toothless grin, but here are a few cute picks!

MIA'S ARRIVED!

Born 05.19.11 at 5:19 PM ,7 lb 2 oz, 18.5 inch's long.  She's such a doll and is getting bigger every day!  She turned over from her back to her tummy for the first time on Monday!  She also smiled back at me for the first time that was really exciting!  Here are some of the pic's believe it or not from the hospital.  She took the pictures right from our room and uploaded them to a website shortly after.

Baby Shower!

Wow!!!  We were so overwhelmed with all the time and thoughtfulness, and hard work, Abby and Naomi put into making our shower the very best! They really went out of their way to make everything so very special!  THANK YOU!   Everything was so adorable and cute!  We played a bible game, measured my belly and played the Price is Right with Naomi Barker! lol The friends were very generous and now both Luke and I agree that Mia can come any day now!  We are fully equipped, and ready!  THANKS SO MUCH FOR COMING, AND FOR ALL THE HARD WORK THAT WENT INTO IT!

Mia's Nursery Corner

The nursery is coming along, slowly but surly. While we were gone to Florida in March Naomi and Pam painted our room for us!  It looks great with all of our colors and especially in Mia's corner. The pictures don't do it justice.

32 Week Ultra Sound

Mia is now 4lb 7oz and getting bigger every day.  She makes it hard to sleep sometimes at night, since she is a night owl.  Here is her latest photo shoot!  It was so cute she had her tongue out at one point then  her mouth is wide open in one of the pictures! Only 2 months left!  I believe she is even getting anxious!

Baby Shower!

Luke and I went down to Florida initially for the Strawberry Festival March 3-6th.  Then  mom, Yoli (the official party planner) and Meliassa threw us a baby shower.  It was so sweet of them, and of everyone that was able to come.  The food was awesome!  Especially the chocolate covered strawberries with coconut and pecans; and the awesome fruit bowel!  The cake mom picked out was not only adorable but also delicious, with a strawberry filling and marshmallow fondant which was super moist and not to sweet!  Melissa had some pretty cute ideas for baby games.  My favorite was The Price is Right, we had to look at a tray of miscelanious baby items and determine the price for each item.  Next using Mia's full name we had to come up with 4 or more letter words. We also played What's in a name?  From all of the friends there we had to match their name to the meaning of their name.  Everyone had such a nice time!  Mia really is loved even though she's not even here yet.  Thanks so much to everyone for all of your love and hard work that went into the baby shower, it made it very special!!!  

BIGGER.. BIGGER ... BIGGER...

Sorry it's been so long since my last post.  Things have been a little crazy.  Mia's nursery is coming together nicely!  Luke made her a beautiful wardrobe cabinet that is perfect!  And can be converted to a shelving unit when her clothes get to long to utilize it.  Also her homemade crib bedding is adorable.  Originally I was looking for gray white, and yellow but we were unsuccessful in finding those colors anywhere.  We spent a day looking at fabric stores and then we stumbled on black and white.  It looks so gorgeous!  Were so proud of it!  We can totally change the color with the crib sheet and accents; even blue if the need be. (lol) 

Over the past month I have doubled my pregnancy weight.  Someone actually asked me for the first time the other day if I was expecting.  How am doing well besides heart burn and indigestion, and leg cramps good. I've tried everything from ginger tea, aloe vera juice, milk, papaya enzymes and natural anti acids; they only work some of the time. So I'm learning to cope since i've never experienced either.  Here are some recent pixs since many want to see how BIG i'm getting.

What is in a name?

Dear Friends, thanks so much for all your input in the naming process.  We decided on Ethan Garrett if it was a boy.  And thanks to Anthony Dominguez in Building Services we decided on Mia Sophie.  Sophie was the name of my grandma on my dad's side, and we were close to her so Luke and I decided to name her after Nana (Sophie).  Mia according to some baby name books means blessed, girl of mine.
