Construction Maintenance- Site Works(Excavation)

I spent Wednesday and Thursday in classes regarding safe handling of a variety of hazardous situations caused by our work assignments. On Thursday afternoon I finally met my crew and my overseer. Including myself there are only 4 brothers on this crew one from Boise, ID, another from Chicago, IL, and our overseer is from western Colorado.
A very humble group of brothers that work very hard in their assignment. One project we are caring for is the waterproofing of the various residences at Patterson. a few rooms in the past had completely flooded. so we dig the dirt away from the foundation and place drains and gravel at the base of the building and then have another crew come in while the wall are exposed and put a waterproof coating on them and put caulk in all the vertical joints.
On Saturday I turned a pile of wet dirt over to help it dry out.

Office Housekeeping (Renee)

I hope that Renee well have time to continue to edit this post so you can keep up with all of her adventures and exploits. We don't have internet access in our room so we have to go down the road to an internet cafe to stay in touch.

Renee is being trained in her assignment by a sister who is from the Lakeland area, Sis Ashe.
When Renee first reported to her assignment they were handing out orchard assignments but since Renee real first name is Eunice they though she was 60 years old and likely not up to the task. Needless to say she well get her orchard assignment later in June.
Part of the assignment involves cleaning on most the tour routes as a result she is being asked to pose in a ton of pictures, she feels so awkward but she's a good sport.

On Saturday the 23rd one of the two work Saturday's Renee well have to work her overseer wanted to train her how to operate the "Chariot" a stand up/ sit down rideable Vacuum sweeper. She was a little uneasy but she found great relief after she accidentally ran the vacuum into the wall thinking she had moved the lever to travel in the opposite direction, all while her overseer was observing. He say's don't worry about it her see the scratches on the front bumper and look over here see where the paint doesn't match that's were i ran it into the wall and had to repaint it.

Long story short Renee is having way too much fun!!!!!!

Housekeeper Training

Renee trained in the E-residence and i trained at the Inn. It's amazing how they've simplified this assignment teaching temps and bethelites to be mindful to keep there rooms clean not creating any additional burdens for the Housekeepers.
We both had fun because this was our first opportunity to start working and contributing.

Getting Into the Routine

On Monday the 18th we finished our new member tours. we saw the legal, service, writing correspondence, convention and translation departments.
One highlight from our tour of translation Bro Williams (Chris Williams older brother) asked for a definition of the word translation. What would you say?
The correct answer- The thoughts of God in the language of the Heart.
The main reason for each translation team residing in the area where the language is most frequently used is to make sure that when they need convey thoughts and ideas they use the correct idiom for example in the United States we would possibly call a very hard downpour of rain with this idiom- "its raining cats and dogs". In other land this might confuse because they term it differently for example in Greece they would say- "its raining priests and bicycles".

Monday evening Renee and I accidentally sat in the sign language section of the auditorium for Watchtower study. oops needless to say we were very distracted and we sang louder than anyone else in our area.

Time Drawing Near to Depart

We've had a very busy week in preparation for moving to NY. First we had to move any belongings (furniture, etc..) from the basement were we had been living to the attic/upstairs. A couple of young brothers lent the much needed time and physical support. Thanks Guys

Then at our last meeting in Braselton (for the time being) anyway, we received many hugs and encouragement from friends that Renee and I both love dearly. To that we can only say that just as much as you miss us we will miss you more. There is no perfect way to describe the mixed emotions one has when they leave behind everything they hold as dear to them in life. No matter how wonderful it may become were you are heading in life you well never stop thinking about how great you had it at home with Family and Friends. And we consider anyone reading this to be our Family and Close Friends.

So until we meet again either here on this blog or gathered at one of our upbuilding and faith strengthening spiritual programs, "keep on keepin on" and never shrink back in your fight for the Faith.

All our love and Happy Posting

Two Week Countdown

May 14th, is rapidly approaching. We've started to pack, besides the necessities it's hard to decide what extras you might want to have along with you. Plus what well actually fit in the car. HAHA
We had the visit of our C.O. this week, for his Sunday talk which focused on Rejecting Worldly Fantasies, Pursue kingdom Realities, He shared the illustration of a little boy who thought he was Superman. The little guy had his red cape on he was running and jumping and finally convinced himself that he could fly. So he climbed onto the Banister/railing on the back deck of the home and leaped. Only to fall flat on the pavement below. At first he didn't move... However it wasn't injuries that were keeping him from moving apparently the pavement was quite soft and he firmly implanted his teeth into the pavement.
This brother who now more than 30 years later recounts this story no longer fantasizes about being superman or his ability to fly.
On Saturday of the visit we had a Congregation picnic @ a local park, even though it rained for the first hour or so we all had a great time. Hopefully next post we'll be all packed and ready for trek...
